CALL FOR ENTRIES
MAD LAB Experiment 7 - Quarantine
Deadline to submit: June 22, 2020.
Mad Lab - Experiment 7
July Theme: Quarantine
Due to the COVID-19 situation and related closures, we will be live streaming Experiment 7 on Twitch.tv! We will return to screening at The Guild once it's safe to resume crowd events.
Screening: Thursday, July 2, 2020. 8 pm at http://twitch.tv/madlabtheater
The cool thing about live streaming? Everyone can see it, even if you're across the globe from ABQ!
Deadline for entries is midnight, June 22, 2020. Entry is free.
We will notify you if your work is accepted into the July program by the 26th.
No geographic limitations for entry.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for work that was created during the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation.
Pieces can be as experimental as you like, including non-narrative, semi-narrative, music videos and more! We lean toward less traditional work, including pieces that were designed for art installations, so the weirder the better. We also accept works in progress, video sketches, found material and trailers.
Length requirements: no minimum. 15 minutes or less (unless we make other arrangements with you). Super shorts are totally okay (we even love videos that are just a few seconds!).
Submission format: please send link to your piece via Vimeo, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, or similar. If you send a Vimeo or YouTube link, be prepared to send a full resolution version once accepted, or make your file downloadable (Vimeo, etc.). Preferred file formats: MP4, MOV, AVI. Send submissions to: [email protected]
What we are:
A bi-monthly mini-festival film screening at The Guild Theater in Albuquerque, NM hosted and curated by Ren Adams and Beth Hansen, plus the Basement Films crew!
Mad Lab is a mad-science mix of video art, experimental cinema, works in progress, secret samples, teasers, delicious deep cuts, audio-visual performance and random, electrifying moments.
We offer a space for experimental cinema, video art, performance, expanded cinema and especially audio-visual mad scientists who work cross-media.
